bittersweet summer [2011]

I bid the summer goodbye

Today I can finally say that to you

Oh you bittersweet summer, a tear in my eye

I lost, I laughed… I cried… did you do too?

Summer, you gave me rain at the start

Magic how you mended my heart

It suddenly began to feel

When you gave me sunshine on April.

Oh but a bittersweet feeling that was

It wasn’t even meant to heal so fast

I got so scared… when you gave that smile to me

Summer couldn’t you just let us be.

So now you come to an end…

And I am so frightened.

The magic is there, even if we close our doors

We’ll know when we see each other,

 it’ll be just like before.

Summer you stared down deep into my eyes…

Summer you sparkled me, then you realize

We are blessed, so let us not get jinxed ..

Summer flings are for fools who never thinks.

So here we are… bittersweet summer “thinkers”

I sit here, like a fool wondering what if’s?

Not a nice thing to do… but to escape reality

I know that smile you gave was meant only for me.

Summer, you know my heart and soul

You know, I could never be whole

I lost a part of me…

A part that was safe and thought to be true

….Bittersweet to me is all so new.

Oh you devil summer you make me daydream

I love how you take a sip of your coffee with cream

I miss how you play with our cigarette sticks

I know too you stare down my hips.

If only for one brief second we got wasted…

Then truly each other we have tasted

What it would be like to have a bittersweet kiss

A fun, a dream …that we would surely miss.

So now as you come to an end

I will carve the magic and never pretend

Tears replaced the sparkle in my eye

This bittersweet summer is finally saying goodbye…
